In Development. Backdrop is a series of theatre design scenarios for a proscenium stage. The scenarios consist of model box photographs that reframe Hollywood backdrops as objects within a fabricated landscape, playing with painted realism, vanishing points and artificial dioramas. The images are photographic collages made 'in camera' (no post production editing), standing as model box scenarios that invite speculation for performance, evoking the fly tower and scene docks of old Hollywood production techniques. This will be an ongoing project that builds a visual score. A theatre without theatre.
